Black & White Arm Sleeves

Black & White Arm Sleeves

A black arm sleeve is the one most people buy first: it hides dirt and sweat marks, covers tattoos for work, matches almost any kit and reads as a compression sleeve on court. A white arm sleeve is the hot-day pick: it reflects more heat than any other colour, suits golf and tennis dress codes and looks clean with a white polo. Armoray makes both in three styles, all UPF 50+, blocking 98% of UV, in a one-size-fits-most stretch with a no-slip band.

Classic Arm Sleeves come in black and white plus 11 other solid colours (grey, navy, beige, red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, aqua, army green, lime), from $9.99 a pair. Silicone Grip SecureFit Arm Sleeves in black, white, grey or navy add a silicone band at the bicep so the sleeve stays put through a run, a game or a shift. Thumbhole Arm Sleeves in black, white, grey or navy extend the sleeve over the wrist and the back of the hand, which matters for driving, cycling, gardening and anyone who gets burnt hands before burnt arms.

Sleeves with thumbholes are the answer when a glove is too much and a plain sleeve leaves a gap: the thumbhole holds the sleeve in place over the hand, so the back of the hand and the wrist stay covered without stopping you from gripping a wheel, a club or a trowel. They run slightly longer than the Classic for that reason.

Not sure which colour? Black for work, sport and tattoo cover; white for heat, golf and tennis; grey or navy if you want something between. All colours carry the same UPF 50+ rating. See all arm sleeves, or go by use: sun protection, compression for sport, men's and women's.

Black & White Arm Sleeves FAQ

Are black arm sleeves hotter than white ones?

Slightly, in direct sun: a white sleeve reflects more heat, so it feels cooler on the hottest days. Both block 98% of UV and both wick sweat, so black is still far cooler than a bare arm in the sun. Most people choose by use rather than temperature.

Which styles come in black and white?

All three: Classic Arm Sleeves (13 colours including black and white), Silicone Grip SecureFit (black, white, grey, navy) and Thumbhole Arm Sleeves (black, white, grey, navy).

What are sleeves with thumbholes for?

They cover the wrist and the back of the hand, the spot sunscreen misses and a plain sleeve leaves bare. The thumbhole keeps the sleeve in place over the hand while you drive, cycle, garden or work, without a glove.

Do white arm sleeves stain easily?

They show dirt and sunscreen more than black, but the fabric is smooth and quick-drying, so a hand wash in cool water with mild detergent lifts most marks. Skip bleach; it damages the stretch fibres.
