Care & Washing Instructions
Take care of your Armoray gear and it’ll take care of you — wash after wash, season after season. A few simple habits keep the fabric performing and the fit intact.
Arm sleeves
Our arm sleeves are built from stretch fibers that keep their shape and grip when cared for gently. High heat and harsh products are the two things that wear them down, so keep it simple:
How to wash
- Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water — no warmer than 86°F (30°C) — with a small amount of mild detergent.
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Both can damage the stretch fibers and reduce the no-slip grip.
- Gently rinse and press out excess water. Don’t twist or wring them.
- Air dry flat or hang dry.
- Do not tumble dry or iron.
Why it matters
Cared for this way, the sleeves shouldn’t noticeably shrink or lose their stretch. High heat, bleach, fabric softener, and machine drying are what weaken the elastic fibers and affect the fit over time — so avoiding them is the whole game.
The same care applies across all our sleeve styles — Classic, Thumbhole, SecureFit, Designer, and Garden sleeves.
Sweat handkerchief
The advanced microfiber that lets the handkerchief absorb up to 7x its weight also holds onto oils and odor if it’s not cleaned regularly. Rinse it after use and wash it often.
- Machine wash warm or cold with like colors, or hand wash with mild detergent.
- Do not use fabric softener — it coats microfiber and kills its absorbency.
- Tumble dry low or air dry.
- Do not iron (high heat damages microfiber).
Bandanas & gaiters
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors, or hand wash.
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
- Air dry or tumble dry low.
- Do not iron.
Hats & caps
- Skull cap: Hand wash or machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Air dry — do not tumble dry, as heat can affect the stretch fabric.
- Boonie hat: Spot clean with mild soap and water, or hand wash gently. Reshape while damp and air dry away from direct heat to protect the brim. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
General tips
- Wash performance fabrics with like materials, and avoid washing them with heavy items like towels or denim that can cause pilling.
- Skip the fabric softener across the board — it’s the one product that hurts almost every performance fabric we make, from stretch grip to microfiber absorbency.
- Always air dry when in doubt. Heat is the most common cause of shrinkage and lost stretch.
- Wash before first wear if you’d like, though it’s not required.
